Life on Planeterf...

Hello again,
As I said last time, the office move went well (same address) & I now have lots more space. Everything has been put away & it's all looking tidy. But (there is always a 'but') I am still waiting for the network to be connected to the old office (which is now my husband's stock room) & my Wi-Fi connection is very weak at best & often drops out completely. This, I am assured, will be fixed early next week. But it has been somewhat frustrating.
Because of the move, we have had to update our insurance & having a kiln always throws a slight spanner in the works. I'm sure the insurance company imagine I have a full-blown furnace running in the office (I don't, in case you're wondering) & it takes a little while to get everything approved. In the meantime, I refuse to run either kiln, just in case something goes wrong & I'm not insured.
I am very much looking forward to these last little bits being sorted & then I can get on with making some nice new things!
I recently registered with the London Assay Office & have my own hallmark. This means I can now make larger sterling silver items to sell. Previously, I was restricted to items below 7.78 grams as it is illegal in the UK to sell sterling silver above that weight without a hallmark. Also, the small kiln has been replaced, so I will be up & running with that again shortly.
I continue to make items for Christmas. It may seem a long way away, but for small businesses it can be a make or break time of the year & it requires a lot of advance planning. I intend to be on top of things this year with no last-minute rush! Last year was a bit hectic as we got married in Italy in September & that took a lot of my time.
More news soon...
