Due to the new EU GPSR regulations, I will no longer be able to sell to customers in Northern Ireland

**NORTHERN IRELAND CUSTOMERS - PLEASE READ**

As you will see from my scrolling banner, I can no longer sell to Northern Ireland. This is due to the new EU GPSR regulation that came into effect on 13th December 2024. I only sell to the UK anyway but the new EU regulations include Northern Ireland as EU for trade purposes. Like many other small businesses, it won’t be cost effectve for me to have a representative (a Responsible Economic Operator) that would have to be based in Northern Ireland. I have removed NI as an option in my postal rates, so the system should reject an NI address in the same way as it rejects addresses outside of the UK. Should something go awry & the system permits someone to place an order for delivery to Northern Ireland, the order will be cancelled, I will issue a refund & the item will NOT be sent. It is not my choice & I am sorry you are being excluded, but it’s a legislation I can’t ignore as I don’t want to be landed with a hefty fine.

POSTAGE TO ENGLAND, SCOTLAND & WALES:

Currently, the most reliable & economical way of sending my small parcels is via the Royal Mail tracked service. However, for the tracking service to be activated, the parcel cannot be posted in a post box. Several of our local Post Offices have closed, which means I have to drive elsewhere, so I am now using the Royal Mail collection service. While the collection is usually reliable, it does mean I am in their hands.
I am aware there are courier services of a similar cost, but I think we’ve all heard of the parcel being ‘delivered’ when in fact the photo shows someone else’s doorstep or a fragile item is launched over the fence, only to be found a soggy mess a week later. At the moment, the more reliable couriers are working out a little too expensive.
IF YOU NEED YOUR ORDER DELIVERED URGENTLY, PLEASE LET ME KNOW & I WILL DO MY BEST TO TAKE IT TO THE POST OFFICE, WHICH WILL SAVE AROUND 24 HOURS AS COLLECTION HAS TO BE BOOKED FOR THE FOLLOWING WORKING DAY. Please use the 'Contact Us' form as it sends the message direct to my email.
PACKAGING
I have tried to balance the packaging to be both environmentally friendly, yet tough enough to withstand the rigours of the journey from me to you.
Many of the corded pendants & beaded necklaces do not sit right when boxed as the cord gets forced into an unnatural shape, so they will be sent in an eco-friendly drawstring pouch made from organic cotton that contains no tarnish-accelerating chemicals. These little bags are ideal for storing ‘awkward’ jewellery. You know, the bits that don’t quite fit nicely in your jewellery box.
Chain necklaces & earrings, which are a little more delicate, will be in a rigid jewellery box. I trialled some cardboard jewellery boxes, but they were not strong enough & quickly looked shabby. I know some of you will be buying jewellery as gifts & you will want it to look presentable. So, with this in mind, I opted for a better quality & slightly larger rigid jewellery box that is more likely to be reused by the recipient. They are great for taking jewellery on holiday or, as my clever friend demonstrated, they can be decorated & used for keeping things like loose change (see photo).
The postage boxes are eco-friendly. Made from FSC-certified corrugated cardboard & water-based glue. Depending on what is being sent out, there may also be honeycomb paper and/or tissue paper within the box. The tissue paper is recycled & acid-free & the honeycomb paper is made from biodegradable kraft paper.
